Our lives, as a society, have become busy and stressful, even unmanageable at times...
Parents these days have more pressure on them than ever before.
So many things to think on, to worry on and be responsible for.
Time is limited and your family may be trying to adjust to the ever-growing list of tasks and overall chaos of the world around us.
Life for everyone has become more challenging, especially post pandemic.
The number of anxiety and depression in not only adults, but children and teens are on the rise.
Many people are feeling lost with not a whole lot of direction. They know something isn't right. They want positive change, but don't have the time or energy to make those changes and sustain them, never mind getting their children to. Something has to change, but it's hard to know where to begin.
This is why small, sustainable changes are so key to your kids and family's growth and progress. Small changes are attainable and achievable. Small changes are manageable and not overwhelming and if your family is willing to do the work, the changes can be permanent.
Isn't that what we all want?
Permanent change in the areas that need it?
This is why your willingness to change and do the work is so key. The outcome can be permanent. Long-lasting. The changes can stay with your children and family for life.
Take a concept such as weight loss for example. To someone whose goal in their health journey is to lose weight in order to feel better, would a quick fix be the most long-lasting solution? Do things such as crash diets work?
Maybe.
For a short time.
But do they last in the long term?
2, 5 or 10 years down the road?
Often not.
The statistics actually say no.
So, what does work? Slow and steady, daily shifts and changes, but most importantly, the commitment to change. The willingness to put in the work to see a better, long-lasting result.
Well, what works for an adult looking to shift in that area, also rings true for your family and their results.
In order to see the changes that need to happen as individuals and as a whole family unit, you must have a level of commitment, patience and willingness to do whatever it's going to take to see those improvements.
The famous 21/90 rule is a rule for a reason. It only takes 21 days to change and build a new habit. 90 days to make it a permanent lifestyle.
That's nothing in the grand scheme of things, so why do we as parents, children and humans in general struggle so much to make sustainable changes that we know will improve our lives?
Well often, we don't know where to begin, where to start. Sometimes we do, but it's hard not to focus on the big goal ahead and we often get discouraged and give up in the short term.
Makes sense. Life is challenging and busy. It's overwhelming and can be draining, especially as a parent.
However, life can also be more peaceful. More joyful. More fun and more connected. Holding onto the possibly of what the results could look like for your kids and family is key. Your have to have that willingness to put in the work to see that vision come into fruition.
We just want you to know that change is possible.
Even the things that seem too big or even impossible to change, we always encourage our families to keep an open mind and be willing to make those small changes for long lasting results.
