The Dangers of Live Online Games and VRChat

If your kids are in high school, grade 5, 6, 7 or 8, then they likely know or have heard of VRChat (We've been told it can go even younger than that).

Ask your kids if they know what it is.

Ask your kids if they are on it, but be aware that VRChat, in particular, is a thing in the "kid world" that they generally know about but keep quiet from their parents...

Either way...

If they are on it, get them off it.

Simple as that.

You might be dealing with some resistance. You may need some extra support to back you up.

But...

VRChat is a dangerous online virtual world platform that is not properly regulated, and dark things are happening there every single day.

It's a place that allows anyone, children or adults, to have social virtual reality experiences with one another. The platform allows users to interact with others with user-created 3D avatars and worlds.

Our clients tell us exactly what is happening on this platform. It is not properly monitored and basically a free for all for adults and children to engage in anything. According to our kids, this place is a magnet for predators and grooming and is not only obviously unhealthy but downright dangerous.

Some of the things that our clients have experienced are virtual characters going to virtual strip clubs and engaging in sexual activity, all while talking to strangers while this is happening. This is the mild version of what goes on...

They have come across many adults with severe mental health problems, as well as addiction issues, and this is the norm, not the exception, according to the kids. They encounter these people every single time they are using the platform.

This is happening not only in VRChat alone, but games such as Roblox, anywhere there is an ability to live chat online.

VRChat, however, has been labeled BY THE KIDS themselves as by far the most dangerous place they've been to online.

The land of gaming and virtual reality is getting darker and scarier with every passing day. The longer your kids spend in these alternate worlds, the more detached they become from reality.
